Oslo Crows 2011 schedule finalised

Oslo v Ås

The first ever Oslo v Ås game, a few years back

It’s done! The 2011 Oslo Crows season has been planned, organised and agreed with our various opponents.

Check it out here on oslocrows.no

The schedule of matches incorporates more games than ever before, more games against Norwegian teams and another International Australian football game for Norway – against Iceland!

The aim of this year’s schedule was to give more regular competitive games for our newer players, and some continuity – not just a game every four weeks or so.

New things for this year:

  • Two planned matches against Tromsø, including an away game in July. Start checking those flights now boys!
  • A revamped AFL Sweden West format, with a three-way battle in each city. For example, Goteborg and Karlstad will both come to Oslo on the same day, and all teams will play each other. This ensures more opportunities for new players. Each match will be shorter to ensure the format is workable.
  • An Oslo East v Oslo West showdown (TBC)
  • An opportunity for Oslo to play in the Sweden Cup in Stockholm against all Swedish teams, not just Sweden West
  • An invitation for players to represent Sweden West in their big game against Sweden East
  • A trip to Iceland to play an International. First Australian football game ever between the two nations

So there you have it. Lots of good stuff planned. Time now to get fit and get recruiting. Training starts on 14 April. Stay close to the blog, the website, the facebook page, twitter etc and start thinking about how you can help introduce a few new people to the great game of Australsk fotball in 2011!
