20090823-10The 2013 season dates have been set, and there are more opportunities than ever to get involved in games of australsk fotball here in Norway.

The local, national and international matches provide opportunities for players of all standards,  from first-timers right up to national representatives playing for Norway at the Euro Cup.

The Kenguru Cup is back in 2013. Oslo East, Oslo West and Ås will fight it out over five rounds of fast paced games. Like last year, the matches will be played Thursday nights, in place of regular training.

In May we’re playing our first ever ‘no Australians’ game, which will give local players more opportunities and help determine selection for the Euro Cup squad.

Outside of Norway, Oslo and Ås players are eligible to play for Sweden West in any of the three AFL Sweden regional games this year.

In addition, our team has been invited to play the Sweden Cup tournament this year, which is a club vs club championship for all major Swedish clubs. All footballers in Norway are eligible to play for Oslo in this tournament.

The season highlight is AFL Europe’s 9-a-side Euro Cup, on September 21 in Bordeaux, France.  We’re taking a Norwegian squad of 15 to the event. Australian born players are not eligible to play for Norway, and selection will be based ENTIRELY on participation and performances in Kenguru Cup games.
